Best Foundation’s | Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation + Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet Foundation
Apologies I could not choose one however these both deserve a mark on my top
beauty picks for the year. Each of these products are completely different.
Charlotte Tilbury offers buildable coverage, if you are a girl into your full
coverage, you will adore this. With a demi-matte finish it leaves the skin
looking glowing, hard to find with full coverage foundation. It also lasts all
day, which adds massive brownie points. Chanel Perfection Lumière has also made
the top picks for 2015, with medium coverage this foundation is the bomb,
completely smoothing your complexion, blurring your imperfections, minimising
pores, lasts all day, it’s just good skin in a bottle. I’ve never tried
anything quite like it.
Best Concealer | Estee Lauder Double Wear Brush On Glow BB Highlighter
This has been a year round favourite of mine, the name is a bit of a mouthful but it mentions a lot of my favourite words. From the packaging to the product itself, I love everything about it. Brightening and concealing all at the same time it’s great for those naughty under the eye dark circles, concealing any redness and highlighting any areas you feel need it. I like to apply it across my forehead, on the bridge of my nose and on the brow bone for a subtle glow. It’s a very moisturising concealer, so is the perfect product for under the eyes for extra hydration and a boost of light.
Best Primer | Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer
I love my primers, and the past year I have invested a fair amount on various different ones from drugstore to high end. For my combination/oily skin I would usually go for a mattifying primer, as you would expect, but I stumbled upon a sample of this and fell in love. The pearl tint too this primer acts as a soft focus effect to decrease the appearance of any imperfections, I find this minimizes the appearance of pores more than a primer aimed for that purpose. If you feel your skin is looking and feeling a bit dull, this is the perfect pick up, wear it alone for an added boost of radiance to the skin or under foundation it just makes your skin look 1000x better with that hint of a glow.
Best Powder | Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Shade Diffused Light
Without question this product is making my top beauty picks of 2015. These versatile powders can double up as an all over setting powder for a complete luminous complexion or apply to the highpoints of your face to accentuate those cheekbones of yours. This is now a daily ritual to apply this powder, and I don’t want to blow my own trumpet but without fail I get a comment on how flawless my complexion is, and it is purely down to this product, without it, I would be lost.
Best Blusher | MAXFACTOR Creme Puff Blush
I discovered these a few months back and my first impression was that they look very similar to the Hourglass blushes, the only obvious difference is the size and I find these have less of a glow. The pigmentation is perfect, not over powering and not sheer at all, the perfect combination for day-to-day wear. I picked up the shades Seductive Pink and Lovely Pink; both are beautiful and would suit every skin tone. I prefer to wear the darker shade Seductive Pink for night time wear to amp everything up, and the other I choose for daytime, although I do like to mix and match. These definitely have beaten some of my high-end blushes by miles.
Best Highlighter | BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Champagne Pop
What a surprise that this is in my yearly favourites. You’ve probably heard enough about this product, but I cannot rave about it enough. When I found out this was being release into the UK I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I was jumping for joy. This is a soft gold highlighter with light pink undertones, suitable for any skin colour; this must have for any beauty junkie out there. This product is in my daily routine whatever base I’m wearing even though some may find it quite intense, you can apply a lighter amount for day wear just to the cheekbones, or apply to your forehead, nose, chin and brow bones to make everything pop for a night time look.
Best Eyebrow Combo | Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil & Maybelline Brow Drama
The drugstore really offers some amazing products when it comes to eyes and eyebrows. I have tried high-end eyebrow kits and pencils, and nothing comes close to this combo. Soap & Glory Brow Archery definitely deserves it’s spot in my 2015 best in beauty. I have used this all year and re-purchased many a time, you an achieve a natural bushy brow or a more defined brow with this product which I love, it’s suitable for all and for all looks that want to be achieved, personally I go for a natural look with this then apply my Maybelline Brow Drama to set everything in place. This eyebrow gel has an odd spoolie compared to most, it’s a small circle shape, but I find this works best as you don’t get the product on your skin. Once this is on your brows, they won’t budge until you take it off.
Best Eyeshadow | By Terry Ombre Blackstar Cream Shadow Shade Frozen Quartz
If you’re into your sparkly eyes this is for you. A dusky pink cream shadow with flecks of sparkle just to add that pop to your eyes, ideal for an effortless makeup look, just swipe it on your lids and blend. The lasting power of these shadow sticks are something else, even without an eye primer they last well over 8 hours, add an eye primer and they’d last all day if you wanted them too. I have grown a collection of cream shadow sticks recently, and this one has to be my favourite, especially during the festive season, my everyday routine became a dewy natural complexion with a sparkly eye and a touch of mascara. They do have a bit of a hefty price tag, but I have not seen a colour like this anywhere else on the market, definitely worth it if you fancy a splurge.
Best Mascara | Clinique High Impact Mascara
What have been your 2015 beauty favourites?
I love the Soap and Glory brow archery, I haven't tried it with the Maybelline brow mascara but I love layering the brow pencil with the L'oreal offering x
